Roots and Resistances – Equipping Educators to Teach the Full Scope of Holocaust History
Join the Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation (JPEF) and the Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS) for an interactive workshop that bridges the gap between the ancient origins of antisemitism and the heroic defiance of the Jewish partisans.
Educators will trace the 2,000-year trajectory of anti-Judaism through primary sources before diving into powerful lesson plans on the wartime resistance and ethical decision-making of the Jewish partisans. Participants will leave with classroom-ready materials designed to help students navigate the complexities of the Holocaust through the lenses of resilience, survival, and the vital history of those who fought back.
This workshop supports the California History-Social Science Common Core Standards.
