This interdisciplinary lesson introduces students to Armenian culture through illuminated manuscripts, letter art, and the Armenian alphabet. By exploring the relationship between language, identity, religion, and cultural preservation, students examine how Armenians have maintained their heritage before and after the Armenian Genocide and create their own Armenian “Bird Letters” inspired by traditional manuscript art.
